About the Agent

Beniamino Ambrosi, originally from Bari, southern Italy, holds a master’s degree in Languages and Literature and a PhD in English Language Literature from the University of Florence. During and after his graduate studies, he worked as a literary translator, translating authors such as Paul Murray and Salvatore Scibona into Italian. He moved to New York in 2009 and spent over a decade as a literary scout at Maria B. Campbell Associates, advising international book publishers in over 20 countries, as well as film and TV clients including Warner Bros. and Netflix. Beniamino transitioned to agenting at the end of 2021, joining The Cheney Agency as foreign rights director. He is now building his list as an agent, representing English-language nonfiction and literary fiction, as well as authors in translation. A Zev Birger Jerusalem Fellow, Beniamino currently serves on the Young Professional’s Committee of Words Without Borders.
