About the Agent

Beth Davey has spent over 25 years as a vice president and director of publicity and corporate communications at major houses such as Ballantine Books (six years), Little, Brown (13 years), and Rodale (two years), in addition to two years as a client consultant at Inkwell Management, a literary agency. During the course of her career, she worked with many distinguished authors such as David Sedaris, James Patterson, Rick Moody, Michael Connelly, Anita Shreve, Gloria Vanderbilt, Malcolm Gladwell, George Pelecanos, Seymour Hersh, and George Stephanopoulos. During her career, Beth worked with major media to secure exceptional publicity for her books and authors in print, broadcast, and online media including 60 Minutes, Oprah, Today, NPR’s Fresh Air, USA Today, Huffington Post, Slate, to name a few. Beth works closely with her authors and publishers to provide excellent advice on media and marketing exposure to maximize a book’s potential. She has been active in the Publishers Publicity Association, where she served as president for two terms and treasurer for three terms. She is a member of the Women's Media Group in New York City. She speaks regularly at writers’ seminars and conferences about the publishing industry.
