Brenda Bowen represents authors and artists of books for young readers from preschool to young adult, as well as select adult titles in fiction, humor, and cookbooks. Her clients have earned prestigious accolades including the MacArthur Fellowship, the Newbery Medal and Honor, the Caldecott Medal and Honor, the Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe Award for New Talent, the Sibert Medal, the Stonewall Award, the Geisel Honor, the William C. Morris Honor, the New York Times Best Illustrated Book prize, and the Society of Illustrators Gold Medal, among many others. Her clients have also achieved #1 New York Times bestseller status and have been translated globally. Brenda represents Oscar-, Emmy-, and Tony-Award winners, established authors and artists, and promising debut talents. She finds equal joy in a bold picture book, a lyrical middle-grade novel, or a sweeping work of historical fiction. Brenda brings a unique perspective to publishing, having worked as a children's book publisher for many years. She is also an award-winning author of some forty books for children and has written one novel for adults, with another in progress. Brenda lives with her family in New York City and spends her summers in a cottage in Maine, where blueberry corn muffins are a frequent menu item.
