Elena Giovinazzo
Closed to unsolicited queriesAbout the Agent
Elena launched Heirloom Literary & Media in 2024 after nearly 20 years in the industry, most recently as Senior Vice President at Pippin Properties. At Heirloom, she looks to grow and nurture the work and careers of top talent, be they writers, artists or both. She spent the last 13 years doing just that for a roster of best-selling, award-winning authors and illustrators, including Jason Reynolds, Katherine Applegate, Beth Ferry, Jason Griffin, Jonathan Stutzman, Ibi Zoboi, Drew Brockington and Amber McBride and Medar de la Cruz. Among her esteemed clients are a MacArthur Fellow, A Newbery Award winner and Honor recipient, A Pulitzer Prize winner, National Book Award finalists, Kirkus Award winners, NYT best-sellers, CSK Award winners and Honor recipients, and a Caldecott Honoree. She loves nothing more than helping her clients create their best work and feels immense pride for the titles she's shepherded into this world. At Heirloom she'll continue to represent creators working in the children's and young adult spaces while also expanding into adult markets, primarily literary and commercial fiction, memoir and narrative nonfiction. Please note that she is currently closed to queries apart from client or industry referrals. *** Heirloom Literary was founded and launched in October 2024 by Elena Giovinazzo and Jason Reynolds, an entirely unique collaboration, cofounded by a veteran literary agent and her longtime client. Using their shared knowledge, expertise and platform, they aim to thoughtfully and meaningfully tend to the careers of singular clients whose work will last across generations, much like the most precious family heirlooms, but with the joyfully stubborn resistance to conformity of the most unique heirloom tomatoes. With decades of industry experience between them, in launching careers, growing careers, mentoring creators and knowing the hard work it takes to succeed in this industry, Elena and Jason aim to help clients create their best work, whether it be their first book or their thirtieth, and do what it takes takes to find their readers in an ever crowded marketplace.
