Open to QueriesAbout the Agent
Raised in the Seattle area, Mackenzie Williams graduated from the University of Virginia as a Jefferson Scholar with distinguished degrees in English Literature and Political & Social Thought. She began her publishing career at nineteen as a research and editorial assistant for Jia Tolentino on her generation-defining essay collection TRICK MIRROR, and joined Janklow & Nesbit shortly after graduating college. She works with Marya Spence and sustains her own list of fiction and nonfiction. Mackenzie represents novels across the commercial, upmarket, and literary spectrum, and is particularly drawn to strong storytelling with a memorable voice, fiction with a command of both line-level craft and big-picture plot, and unforgettable, transportive settings. She loves novels that earn the reader’s attention, surprise and subvert expectations, and possess undeniable style. Her favorite books delight and entertain as much as they anchor urgent conversations. Mackenzie is also seeking rigorous, stylish nonfiction with broad cultural appeal that invites readers to question their own assumptions. She lives in New York City.
